Each year fire kills more than 4,000 Americans, and more than 25,000 are injured. Many of them might be alive today if they had the information they needed to avoid a disaster. Eighty percent of these deaths occur in the home. Seniors and children under the age of 5 years old are at a greater risk of fire deaths due to not being able to escape a fire. A working smoke detector gives you the greatest chance of surviving a fire.
